Handbuilt road and mountain bike wheels
Wheels can be a key upgrade on many bikes for performance, weight and even looks. Despite a growing number of factory machine built wheels on the market there is still high demand for handbuilt wheels. Certain customers have a hub and rim of choice that isn’t available off the peg, that’s where a handbuilt comes in. Moonglu have been building their own wheels for a number of years and demand for our wheels has grown significantly as our reputation has spread.
As a Hope Tech Dealer, we can offer many of their standard Pro 2 Evo wheelsets with the extra option of a choice of hub colour. Our most popular Hope wheels by far come with the ZTR Crest and Flow rims produced by Stans No Tubes. A pioneer of the mountain bike tubeless wheel system, Stans rims and their easy setup has allowed tubeless to become mainstream. Moonglu can offer the Crest or Flow rim in black anodized or white powdercoat with a choice of Pro 2 Evo hub colour.
In addition to the Crest and Flow, Stans have now released an updated intermediate rim, the Arch EX, a brand new rim for 2012. Hope don’t currently supply any of their wheels with the Arch EX, but Moonglu can offer this option as a full hand built wheelset. Perfect for heavy duty cross country, trail and all mountain bikes, this option is sure to be the wheelset of choice for many riders.
All our Stans wheelsets, both Hope factory built and Moonglu handbuilts come supplied with Stans Yellow tubeless tape fitted prior to dispatch for easy tubeless setup. We can also supply tubeless valve stems and liquid on request.
The Pro 2 Evo hubset is now Hope’s most versatile ever. With an increasingly diverse range of axle options on the market, Hope can be fitted with most. Moonglu understand these needs and will supply our wheelsets with the axle adapters of choice, at no extra cost.
Although a big part of our business is Hope equipped wheels, we are not limited to this brand. We have built with DT Swiss, Chris King and Shimano hubs with 26″, 29″ and 700c rims.
