2012 Team line-up
Moonglu Race Team are pleased to announce their rider line-up for the 2012 season. Moonglu RT in Ripon, North Yorkshire were first registered in 2009, for 2012 they will field a 14 man line-up, captained by Steve Hodgson. The multi discipline team will participate in a range of events including road, cyclocross, track, time trial, mountain bike XC and Downhill, triathlon, orienteering and grass-track racing.
The team has a superb balance of riders. Nic Smith, Mike Harper, John Wilkinson, Martin and Max Vesty will concentrate on the off road cross country events, Mike Cross is a time trial specialist and the rest of the team will primarily stick to road events, but many of the riders will cross disciplines throughout the season dependent on the events calendar. Ian Chapman is fighting it out in Cyclo Cross events over the winter, James Metcalf (2011 North of England Senior DH Champ) and Mike Newbold will be hitting the downhill race with force. Two teams will be entered in the Nutcracker 24hr mountain bike race, this will be the big team event for 2012, but with a packed calendar, every race is important.
Team Manager and Moonglu owner, Neil Dunkley, is looking forward to the impending race season. “We’re very excited about the new season. After the success of our start up year in 2009, all the riders are very motivated to do even better in 2012. There’s a great balance between work ethic, teamwork and fun. We take our racing seriously but make sure we enjoy ourselves at the same time, this creates real camaraderie and feel good factor and ensures our winning ways”.
