2008 Marin Bikes
HOME I BIKES I PARTS I ACCESSORIES I CONTACT US

Firstly, to put the record straight, for 2008 you will not find detail information of each 2008 Marin model on our website. For those that really wanted this information prior to coming along to our shop to buy a Marin bike, then we do apologise. For those that wanted to check every Marin dealer to find the cheapest prices, then tough luck, you will find the RRP prices on the Marin website.

You will no doubt have already noticed that you can't buy a bike online from our website. The reason for this is two fold. The first reason is because Marin prefer to carry out their business through respectable Independant Bike shops, where customer service and aftersales support is the key, not the cheapest prices. Marin bikes purchased online carry only statutory 1 year warranty, after this you're on your own. A Marin bike purchased in person from a Marin dealer, will receive one free service and excellent warranty support for the life of the frame to the original owner, with the option through Platinum Care Scheme of 2 years of free safety checks at the place of purchase.

The second reason for the lack of online purchase facility is that our website doesn't support online sales. This is the way we like to conduct our sales, in person, so that we are certain the customer has received the correct advice on type of bike and size of bike. Unfortunately, there are many uncertain folks in the world who walk through our door without a clue what size and style of bike they require to suit their needs. It must be a nightmare for all those people sat infront of their computer screens, checking out websites to find the cheapest prices, then clicking to buy, with the uncertainty that when the box turns up they have to put a bike together that may be completely the wrong size.

For those interested in coming along to buy a new Marin bike, i hope you find the funny side of the cynicism in the previous paragraphs. Come along to the shop, we won't bite and you never know, if you ask the right questions you may even get a deal!!

The new 2008 bikes are already upon us, we have already taken delivery of our demo Mount Vision, with stock Mount Visions and East Peaks to back up the test rides.

The new Quad 140mm bikes are the most exciting bikes in the range. Taking over from the tired old Quad Tara bikes, the new 140mm bikes share the technology filtered down from the Whyte E5 and last years 120mm Marin Bikes. The Attack Trail comes with Rock Shox Pike forks and a plethora of top kit, a demo bike will be available very soon. All the Marin suspension bikes come with the new modular rear dropout systems, a massive improvement on previous bikes in terms of strength and stiffness.

The trail hardtail range remains largely unchanged although the frames are even stiffer but lighter than previous years. The highlight of the 3 bike range is the Rocky Ridge, a fabulous looking bike in the colour of 2008, gloss white, simply stunning.

The cross country hardtail range sees even further refinement for 2008, the swooping top tubes remain and filter down to the entry level hardtail bikes.

The biggest improvement in the range happens in the hybrid bikes. Long forgotten about by Marin, they finally get a full face lift, not a cosmetic makeover. New frames, new classy looking paint finishes and new improved componentry really give the range the lift it deserves. The Larkspur, forever our best selling bike, is the standout model, finished in a lovely metallic grey and £10 cheaper than previous years at £349, long live the hybrid King.
