Lynskey Sportive Custom Build.
The most recent bike to leave our custom build program was this Lynskey Sportive titanium road bike.
Although we had to wait a considerable time for the frame to be hand made in the Lynskey workshops in the USA, it was well worth it.
At the time, this XL frame was a special order, but we’ve since sold another one and Lynskey will be putting this frame size into more regular production to keep the 6’5″+ people amongst us happy.
The Fulcrum Racing Zero wheels were supplied by the client for the build and we agreed to continue the red theme on the rest of the bike.
This bike will be used in all conditions, all year round including long Sportive races in the Dales and North York Moors, it’s first long event will be the Ryedale Rumble which takes in the infamous Rosedale Chimney Bank. With this in mind, the bike was specced with a SRAM Apex drivetrain, with a 50/34 chainset up front and an 11-32 cassette at the back.
The bearing duties were taken care off by Chris King, with a red Sotto Voce headset and bottom bracket with GXP conversion for SRAM. To maintain the red theme we used Gore gear and brake cables with red outers.
Up front we used a Kinesis DC07 carbon training fork with eyelets and mudguard clearance. Due to the extra drop on the fork, we used a Tektro 57mm drop calliper for the brakes instead of the SRAM Apex. Finishing the build we used an Easton EC70 carbon seatpost, a Fizik Arione CX saddle, Easton stem and a Ritchey Comp handlebar. The final bike weight came in at a very satisfactory 18.5 Ibs, not bad for an XL frame.
