What Colour to go for…..

Often the most difficult decision when ordering a Nicolai frame, the options are endless. Ultimately the final choice is yours but hopefully this information will help you make that final decision.

Colours and Costs

To simplify the options, the following colours are no extra charge options when ordering a Nicolai frame:

  • Hardtail – Black Anodized
  • Hardtail – Single colour powdercoat from Nicolai colour chart, matt or gloss finish
  • Full Suspension – Black Anodized front and rear
  • Full Suspension – Single colour powdercoat, matt or gloss front triangle with black anodized rear swingarm
  • Full Suspension – Black Anodized front triangle with single colour powdercoat swingarm, matt or gloss

Extra Costs

  • Bronze Anodized – £125
  • Coloured Anodized Hardtail – £350
  • Coloured Anodized Full Suspension – £350 (or £175 per end)
  • Stripe Camo Finish – £265 (Choose 3 RAL colours from the chart)
  • Dizzy Camo Finish – £175 (Choose 3 RAL colours from the chart)
  • Extra Love – £50 Coloured Anodized pivot and bearing covers
  • Custom Paint Colour – £75 Non stock paint colour from RAL chart

We have been selling Nicolai frames since 2004 and we have seen lots of great examples and trends over that period. We started off by selling mostly black anodized frames. It’s a tough, no nonsense finish that stands up to years of trail abuse and we have customers that clean their frame up and replace their decals every year, they look good as new.

We went through a long period of camo effect finishes but this has now been left behind. The current trend is vivid, bright full colours in gloss finish. The powdercoat on each Nicolai frame really is top drawer, like the frames, it’s there to last.
