Your local bike shop
Moonglu is an independent local bike shop based in Ripon, North Yorkshire. The business started trading in August 2002 on the site of an existing cycle shop in Blossomgate, Ripon.
Moonglu is ideally situated with close proximity to the North York Moors and the Yorkshire Dales. We are an ideal stop off point for spare bike parts on visits to the local mountain bike trail centres at Dalby Forest and Stainburn Forest, as well as touring cyclists and road cyclists passing through the city on the Sustrans Way of the Roses coast to coast cycle route.
The shop covers most bases in the modern cycling world, from road and mountain bikes, to the needs of commuters, racers and leisure cyclists.

Although cycling has become very diverse over the last decade, we endeavour to stock a range of cycling products to suit the needs of our customer base. We have access to many leading brands however, with the limitations of retail space and the desire to have a pleasant shopping environment, we cannot display or stock every item from every brand. As keen cyclists ourselves, we try to stock items that we have either tried ourselves or know are amongst the best product and best value for money on the market. Poor product inevitably ends up in a bad shopping experience, that’s why we are selective of the brands we sell.
The shop is an Aladdin’s cave of bikes, cycle clothing, bike parts and accessories, stocking bike brands Giant and Whyte, cycle clothing brand Endura and Seal Skinz waterproof garments, and parts from Shimano, SRAM, Thomson, Easton, Hope Technology, Chris King and Bryton to name but a few. We stock a comprehensive range of bike accessories from key brands such as MET helmets, Camelbak hydrations systems, Cateye lights and cycle computers, Maxxis tyres, Schwalbe tyres, Fenwicks cleaning products and Torq sports nutrition.
Custom built bikes
Custom Builds aren’t a walk through the door, choose a bike, pay and walk out item, they require much more customer contact. In most instances, we find a personal approach to the buying experience benefits both the customer and the shop through positive feedback.
Many of our Custom Built Bikes have been sold to existing customers who have exceeding the capabilities of their existing bikes and want something that little bit special, but likewise there are lots of clients that we have never even met.More about custom built bikes »
Bike repairs and servicing
Moonglu operate a busy Shimano Service Centre accredited bike repair and service workshop. Our members of staff are Cytech trained and with a wealth of hands on knowledge can competently work on almost any style and brand of bike.
Fork servicing
Moonglu are an Authorised Fox Suspension stockist and service centre. We have been a Fox stockist since they first entered the suspension market with their 32mm Float and Vanilla forks. Fork and air shock servicing is a regular part of our workshop routine, we are able to preform regular servicing and some repair work to most Fox forks and RP series and float air shocks.
As well as Fox suspension, we are also set up to service SRAM Rock Shox forks and some Magura and Marzocchi forks. Please contact us for information on servicing of specific models.
Hub Servicing
As a Hope Tech Shop we are fully competent to work on all model Hope hubs and wheels. Our workshop can also service and repair, hubs from DT Swiss, Mavic, Chris King together with Shimano cup and cone style hubs.
Our Hope repairs also extend to their range of brakes dating back to the original Mini and M4. We carry a range of spares including pistons, seals and lever parts.
